The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has confirmed Simon Bowen as its new executive director of membership.

Mr Bowen currently operates as director of membership support and services at the British Psychological Society in Leicester and will take the place of Hazel Harvey in March next year.

Ms Harvey is stepping down after almost 20 years at the organisation, in which time it established itself as the biggest professional organisation in health and safety, boasting a membership of almost 42,000.

"I am delighted to be joining IOSH and I look forward to working with the team. Safeguarding the health and safety of people in the workplace is an incredibly important aim and an exciting challenge," Mr Bowen stated.

News of this appointment comes after IOSH announced Jan Chimel will succeed Rob Strange as the organisation's new chief executive.

Mr Chimel will take up the role in April next year.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801508653-ADNFCR
