Aycliffe firms to take part in health and safety workshops

Companies in Newton Aycliffe are to be provided with health and safety workshops in a bid to offer free information, support and guidance.

The Estates Excellence initiative, which has been arranged by a number of partners, will run a selection of special events at South West Durham Training premises.

At these events, a range of health and safety topics will be coverd, including fire risk assessments, control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH), practical manual handling and much more.

David Snowball, HSE director for Scotland and northern England, said: "The Estates Excellence initiative works in partnership with businesses providing clear information, on-site training and practical help to improve the health and safety of workers."

Mr Snowball added that the project will benefit workers and save businesses time and money by cutting down on accidents.

Estates Excellence has been organised by Durham and North Yorkshire Safety Group and South West Durham Training, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Durham County Council, Durham.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801525479-ADNFCR
