Residents from Badgers Mount have backed a new road safety campaign in the area.

Kent County Council has received a petition that aims to decrease the speed of the A224 and introduce road safety measures in the area, reports the Sevenoaks Chronicle.

The main focus of the project is to reduce the speed limit on the A224 Orpington bypass from 60mph to 40mph, while measures on the A224 and Old London Road are also sought after.

Sue Wyatt, a member of Badgers Mount Residents' Association, told the news provider: "We are looking forward to a meeting with a Highways Department representative. We will walk around the village and look at concerns and how to address them."

News of the campaign comes after SouthWestBusiness.co.uk found that warning signs have been introduced to make motorists aware of 20mph speed limits across Bath.

Twerton and Southdown are the first two areas to have the decreased speed zones.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801469968-ADNFCR
