A worker from the BBC has been awarded for her research in the field of occupational health and safety.

Sarah Davidson, health and safety advisor for the BBC, was praised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health for her work in the field of laser use in the entertainment industry.

"I was really pleased to obtain recognition for the research and I feel winning has enabled the research topic to be more widely understood and of course, it has given me confidence and encouragement to further the work," Ms Davidson explained.

She picked up a £1,000 prize and a pass to the IOSH 2013 Conference and Exhibition.

IOSH's Ireland Branch is also aiming to study a number of safety concerns in a meeting next month.

The event will take place on March 6th at Dundrum House Hotel, where questions relating to machinery, quad bikes and power take-off driven equipment will be asked.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801548656-ADNFCR
