Bear Grylls criticises health and safety

English adventurer Bear Grylls has criticised health and safety rules, as he believes they leave young people overly protected.
Echoing the views of many people in Britain, Grylls believes that youngsters need to be educated on how to manage risk, while not trusting them is doing them a "disservice", according to the Birmingham Mail.
Speaking to the newspaper, he said: "That is what we try and do through the Scouts – empower young people who would never normally get the chance to do these things. We teach them how and then help them do it."
Gryll's comments come after the government announced proposals to cut back on health and safety red tape, which may influence how safety signage is installed.
Commenting on the proposals, minister for employment Chris Grayling said that they aim to put "common sense back at the heart of health and safety".
