Bramall Construction has claimed a national health and safety award after enforcing commendable preventative measures against asbestos exposure.

This news may prompt other companies to consider how safety signs are being applied in their workplace.

The firm was honoured with the best occupational award accolade in National House Building Council's (NHBC) recent ceremony in Birmingham.

Sara Sutton, Bramall's health and safety manager, said: "We are very proud of how well we have done at the NHBC awards and to gain an award for Best Occupational Health Initiative is just an exceptional achievement."

Ms Sutton also explained that the company's award demonstrates that it is one of the safest companies in the UK, while highlighting the importance of controlling asbestos.

Companies that do not attempt to nullify asbestos hazards are not only putting their workers in danger, as they are also risking prosecution.

John Todd Ltd was recently charged by the Health and Safety Executive after it was discovered that the firm had not deployed the correct safety measures to prevent the material from spreading.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800573180-ADNFCR
