The British Safety Council (BSC) has consulted with risk management expert Ragnar Lofstedt as part of his review of health and safety laws, which may lead to changes in warning signs.

Mr Lofstedt is a professor at King's College London and was handed evidence from the BSC's 8,000 corporate members, who indentified certain rules that they believe need to be altered, reports HR Magazine.

Alex Botha, the BSC's chief executive, said: "It was important for us as one of the world's leading advocates of workplace health and safety to have the opportunity to meet with Lofstedt to share the views of our members about the importance of establishing a sensible safety regime."

Members of the BSC see scope for existing regulations to be rationalised, Mr Botha added.

In a recent article for the Hackney Citizen, health and safety expert Garry Sounders spoke of his concern about possible electrical dangers at the London Fields Lido pool, which have been overlooked by its operators.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800624423-ADNFCR
