Chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has teamed up with fire fighters in a bid to create a recipe booklet to promote fire safety.

His 400-year-old barn in Axminster, Devon was destroyed in a blaze recently, prompting the food expert to highlight the importance of adhering to fire safety measures, according to the Western Morning News.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) worked with the chef's River Cottage company.

A spokesperson from DSFRS said: "They have always taken their responsibilities with regards to fire safety seriously and the incident has led to them working with us to help promote our summer fire safety messages in a recipe booklet where we have shared our top tips for a fun and safe barbecue."

The tips could be extremely important now that warm weather has finally reached the UK, which will no doubt prompt many households to host barbeques, where safety is a key concern.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801430079-ADNFCR
