Youths living on a Poringland estate are putting their lives at risk by ignoring warning signs and playing near an electrical substation, a local resident claims.

Steve Fowkes has stated that the site near Glenn Road is not fully safe and has urged the company responsible for the substation to repair or replace the crumbling walls that surround it, reports EDP24.

Mr Fowkes, who lives at Jubilee Walk, near Glenn Road, told the news provider: "My only concern is the kids going into it and playing, which could be fatal. My children know not to go in there, but there are others on the estate who don't really understand."

It follows a report in the Hull Daily Mail, which revealed that new safety signs are set to be erected on the Holme Road junction of the A1079, amid concerns over the road's safety.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800674821-ADNFCR
