Northern civil engineering contractor Clugston Construction has won a President's Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) after collecting 14 Gold awards in succession.

The firm has offices in Leeds, Scunthorpe and Hebburn Tyne and Wear and Steve Radcliffe, managing director at the company, said that he is proud to be honoured with the accolade.

"Our employees are our most valuable asset and we do our utmost to ensure their safety at all times, on all our construction sites," Mr Radcliffe explained.

The company has also been nominated in the health and safety category of the 2012 Annual Construction News Awards.

Another firm that has been acknowledged by RoSPA for its health and safety efforts is Palletforce, which has collected the gold award from the organisation for the third year in a row.

It was the first firm in its sector to claim the honour in 2010 and will collect its third accolade in a ceremony later this month.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801357993-ADNFCR
