A construction firm from Hartlepool has collected a seventh health and safety award in succession, demonstrating the credit which can be given to firms that implement measures such as effective warning signs.

Gus Robinson Developments was handed a gold medal by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), which is delivered to companies that achieve five consecutive RoSPA awards, reports the Peterlee Mail.

Michelle Boylan, health and safety co-ordinator and liaison officer for the firm, told the newspaper: "High health and safety standards are part of the company’s culture and it has been embraced by all of the staff. We will be working hard to ensure we maintain these high standards."

Ms Boylan emphasised that the company is now aiming to achieve ten awards in succession.

Another firm that has recently won an award in the health and safety industry is the Kenton Group.

It has received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, which recognises exceptional health and safety practice in Britain.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801273909-ADNFCR
