Coppull driver calls for better road signs

A Coppull motorist has called for better warning signs to be introduced on local roads.
Speaking to the Chorley Guardian, Vicky Barlow said that she narrowly avoided hitting a deer on New Road in the area and believes that better notices are needed to prevent any future accidents.
Ms Barlow noted that the deer jumped out of the woods right in front of the car and only her quick reactions stopped her from hitting the animal.
"I am new to the area so I wasn’t expecting this and was even more surprised to find no signposts stating the risk in that area," she commented.
Ms Barlow stated that she was also lucky that "nothing was coming the other way".
In areas where animals often roam, it is important to drive carefully in order to avoid any potential accidents.
Also, if there is no signage to warn motorists of nearby animals, locals should not hesitate to contact their local council.
