Drivers in Devon have been warned about the threat of ice on the roads.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice for South West England, with this expected to remain in place until Tuesday night as snow continues to affect some areas of the region.

Warning signs have been put up to warn road users of the hazards.

Speaking to the BBC, head ranger Rob Steemson said: "A lot of the roads were closed with signs... people are unfortunately ignoring the signs and abandoning their cars to go sledging.

"The main problem areas include the road from Bovey Tracey to Hay Tor, Tavistock to Princetown and Plymouth to Princetown."

He stressed that it had been a "frustrating" weekend and emphasised that the road closure signs should be acknowledged.

Snow has wreaked havoc in several other areas of the UK, with the adverse conditions leading to a number of problems on the road and rail networks.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801526408-ADNFCR
