Dirty Somerset road signs causing driving problems?

Several road signs in South Somerset may be posing problems for drivers, as they are obscured by dirt.

One resident, Chris Kishere, spoke out about the warning signs after noticing that the signage on the A30 road is challenging to read and may lead to dangers among motorists, reports This Is The West Country.

Speaking to the news provider, Mr Kishere said: "Many of the signs just aren't visible and they pose a particular danger for motorists travelling in who don’t know the area."

In reaction to his comments, a representative for Somerset County Council stated that the signs situated on the A30 have now been added to the authority's routing sign cleaning programme.

The topic of road signs was recently highlighted by local transport minister Norman Baker, who revealed that new digital signage is being discussed by government officials.

This would be installed on roads to notify motorists of the time that their journeys would take via train.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800584560-ADNFCR
