A doctor from Shropshire has received a lifetime award from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), indicating the rewards that can come the way of people who effectively implement safety signage.

Dr Paul Oldershaw was recognised at the SHP IOSH Awards 2011 for his commitment to the health and safety sector. IOSH has regarded him as an integral figure in British occupational hygiene for the last 30 years.

Steve Granger, president of IOSH, who presented Dr Oldershaw with his award, said: "It's great to see experts within the health and safety industry awarded for their hard work and dedication."

Dr Oldershaw has made a difference to workplace hygiene over the years, Mr Granger stated.

This award follows the news that HSE Passport has introduced a new blog, which aims to improve companies' awareness of health and safety legislation.

It is hoped that the blog will help businesses to remain safe and avoid fines. ADNFCR-2754-ID-800776236-ADNFCR
