Dorset Fire and Rescue work to reduce fire risks

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service has investigated more than 3,000 households for fire risks, which may have prompted the installation of warning signs.

These assessments were completed via its referrals website portal, which was introduced in April. More than 1,350 of these were classified as high or very high risk, resulting in home safety checks for many of the county's most vulnerable homeowners.

The service's Pinpoint system has been a key part of its work, as it allows people to complete a short fire risk analysis form, which will then be used to create a risk rating.

Once the resident has seen their risk rating, they can choose to download a home safety pack or be offered a home safety check.

This news comes after Volvo's Construction Equipment division collected a gold award in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents' (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

It won the accolade after showing excellent health and safety management systems.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801045935-ADNFCR
