Drivers ignoring crucial signage in Plymouth

Drivers are ignoring a "no left turn" road sign in Plymouth, which is potentially putting them in danger.

Local resident Michael Ghillyer told the Plymouth Herald how motorists are ignoring the sign, which urges road users not to turn left from Laira Bridge.

The notices were introduced last year as part of a £19 million roadworks campaign in the east end of the city, with Mr Ghillyer describing the situation as "frightening at times".

"It's chaos. We've had a few near misses with people turning left. They come round the corner, we watch them sometimes," he told the news provider.

Mr Ghillyer added that, while all of the improvements to Plymouth's east end were meant to make the roads better, the changes have not had their desired effect.

It is always vital that motorists check road signage, as they can indicate changes to routes that would otherwise go unnoticed, helping to keep drivers safe and reduce the probability of injury.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801386666-ADNFCR
