Foster claims health and safety award

Foster Wheeler Energy Limited has collected the five-star health and safety management system audit award from the British Safety Council, demonstrating the recognition that firms can gain after using effective safety signage.
The company collected the award after it underwent a five-star audit, where the council evaluated the health and safety performance of FWEL's Reading home office operations. This resulted in a score of 93 per cent.
Umberto della Sala, chief operating officer of Foster Wheeler AG, said: "The British Safety Council rightly focuses on not only systems and performance but on an organisation's commitment to continuous improvement - a commitment that is shared by everyone at Foster Wheeler."
Mr della Sala also expressed his pride at Foster Wheeler Energy being recognised for its efforts towards efficient health and safety.
This week, the Malvern Gazette revealed that children at Upton CE Primary School have been taught about fire safety by local firefighters.
