Glasgow Airport has picked up top marks from the British Safety Council after being put through a four-day assessment.

It achieved the maximum five stars following interviews with staff, site tours, inspections and an analysis of the site’s safety management.

Alex Botha, chief executive of the British Safety Council, heaped praise on the workers at the premises, noting that everyone involved should “derive tremendous satisfaction” from their achievements.

“The auditors identified many strengths in Glasgow Airport’s management of risk in its operation, including the role played by senior management in providing leadership and direction and the role of the wider workforce in ensuring the airport is kept safe and secure,” Mr Botha continued.

Gillies Crichton, Glasgow Airport’s head of assurance, described the safety of passengers as the “number one priority”, adding that the honour reflects the hard work carried out across the site to boost the wellbeing of workers.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801594130-ADNFCR
