Gloucestershire road users have been advised to look out for safety signs as work will start this month on a £2.5 million scheme to improve safety in the area.

Roughly 110km of road across the county is expected to undergo surface dressing, which prolongs the life of roads by sealing surfaces against water and air.

The first phase of this work will begin on May 20th and continue until June 13, while the second is set to take place on July 8th and run until July 31st.

Gloucestershire highways head Nigel Tomlinson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience to road users as a result of these works, but hope that drivers will see an improvement in the surface of the road.”

As the work gets underway, it is vital that road users slow down when necessary and look out for warning signs, which will help to keep themselves and others as safe as possible.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801583166-ADNFCR
