In light of a long-running campaign that has involved health and safety signage, the head teacher of a school in Wales is still frustrated that parents are parking illegally outside the site, potentially putting their children at risk.

According to thisisSouthWales.co.uk, staff at Ysgol Dewi Sant, in Heol Goffa, together with the police and local council, erected warning signs and wrote letters to parents, informing them of the risks.

However, they are still concerned that some motorists are still failing to use the school car park, parking illegally on zigzags outside instead.

"We have had signage put up to tell people to keep off the zigzags and police officers have been patrolling the area," head teacher Gethin Thomas told the news provider.

"It's very concerning," he added.

Justin Evans, sergeant for Llanelli Police, told the news provider: "Illegal parking could be potentially putting children's lives at risk."

Earlier this month, a school-route mum called for improved safety signage and the introduction of bollards on her street following an car crash outside her home.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800199092-ADNFCR
