Highways Agency panned over A12 road signs

The Highways Agency has been criticised by the Essex Federation of Small Businesses for not installing efficient warning signs on the A12 junction.

It is valued at £11.2 million and is a key route to the Axial Way stadium, yet signposts only direct road users to Colchester General Hospital, rather than the Weston Homes Community Stadium, reports the Daily Gazette.

Speaking to the news provider, Essex Federation of Small Businesses chairman Iain Wicks said: "This stadium is not just the home for Colchester United Football Club, but is also a very significant conference and meeting venue for the business community across north-east Essex and south Suffolk."

Mr Wicks commented that visitors and staff also need to arrive at the stadium by road, as there is no railway station at the stadium.

This news comes after the Institute of Advanced Motorists recently discovered that 67 per cent of drivers believe that 20mph speed zones should be enforced outside schools.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800703465-ADNFCR
