Horses seized in Bradford safety project

3rd January 2013 | Warning Signs

Posted by Jason Nicholls

A total of 100 horses found roaming areas of Bradford have been seized by authorities over the last 12 months.

Owners who now leave the animals loose could now face eviction from their home or court action, as officials hope to stringently address the issue, reports the Telegraph and Argus.

As part of the move, warning signs have been installed on several areas of land, stressing that enforcement action will be taken if horses are left there.

Speaking to the news provider, Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council executive member for environment, sport and sustainability, said: "These measures prevent the horses from being a danger or nuisance to the public and show that all partners in the district are serious about dealing with this matter."

News of the Bradford project comes after the Gazette and Herald reported that horse riders from Easterton have urged for safety signs to be installed to notify motorists of the speed limit within the village.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801515945-ADNFCR
