The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has opened a new branch in Oman.

Thanks to the new site, the organisation is aiming to develop relationships with the government, industries and other groups, working towards the objective of improving and maintaining health and safety for all workers in the country.

IOSH will introduce best practices for the workplace, which will help to improve productivity and boost the economy as a result of fewer injury cases.

Peter McNair, chair of IOSH Oman, said: “This is a historic event for the Institution and we are honoured to have the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed Kofan for this launch.

“This is the recognition of the hard work already carried out by the Oman Branch committee in building links with organisations here.”

The new branch will offer numerous opportunities for HSE/OHS professionals, ranging from constructors to employees in the oil, gas and healthcare sectors.

IOSH will also work with schools to support professionals and promote healthy work environments.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801576847-ADNFCR
