The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has welcomed the European Union’s public consultation on health and safety.
It believes that help is also needed for small and medium-sized enterprises to adhere with the plans. The group wants to see vulnerable groups protected while health and safety is integrated in the education system.
IOSH head of policy and public affairs Richard Jones said: “It’s great to see this public consultation – we’re delighted that the European Commission has heeded our calls for a new strategy and hope our comments help inform the way to safer, healthier and more sustainable future for Europe in 2020.”
The body wants the EU to guarantee adequate levels of regulation and enforcement, but also wants to see wider promotion of the business case for good health and safety.
IOSH is also calling for a wider promotion of the business case for good health and safety.
