Minehead resident introduces his own hospital sign

After being frustrated at the lack of signs indicating Minehead's new community hospital, one resident has decided to introduce his own notice.

Brian Leaker urged for signage to be erected to notify people of the premises and when his calls were unanswered, he decided to make one himself, reports the Western Daily Press.

However, it looks like an official sign is on the way, after NHS Somerset agreed a deal with Somerset County Council.

"Somerset County Council's highways department has agreed a position with the NHS building consultants for a more prominent sign on Seaward Way opposite the entrance to Minehead Hospital and has also supplied them with details of local contractors to facilitate this," a spokesperson for the authority told the news provider.

News of the agreement comes after West Briton reported that aging signposts in the Roseland have been revamped as part of a new project.

Julian German, the area's Cornwall Council member has helped to refurbish the signs with the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801369435-ADNFCR
