New signs introduced in Bushmead to indicate county boundaries

New warning signs have been introduced in Bushmead to indicate the boundaries between Central Bedfordshire and Luton.

The notices installed in Cromer Way cost Luton Borough Council £80 each and mark the borders around 700m apart, which have been heavily debated among residents, reports Luton Today.

Speaking to the newspaper, resident James Ashby said: "These signs just underline what I’ve said before; having part of so-called Central Bedfordshire in the middle of Bushmead is totally ludicrous."

Mr Ashby stated that it is "high time" this "ridiculous" situation was resolved, adding that money has been wasted on signs to point out the "stupid" problem.

Recently, the BBC helped to alter a misleading sign in Belfast, which was causing drivers to travel in the wrong direction up a one-way street.

Mr Ashby's views were echoed by Cromer Way resident Fred Harper, who claimed that people will "think they are going mad".ADNFCR-2754-ID-801477624-ADNFCR
