Improved directional health and safety signage will be installed for a historic event at a village in Staffordshire.
Organisers of Endon's annual well-dressing event, which dates back over 160 years, are hoping to install new safety signs to direct people around as the current wooden ones are falling into disrepair, the Sentinel reports.
"We need lasting aluminium internal signs to direct people to various parts of the well-dressing site, including the toilets, food tent, craft fair, and arenas," Alan Williamson, one of the event's trustees, told the newspaper.
"Present signing is hand-painted lumps of wood and that sends out the wrong message."
Mr Williamson is hoping to secure the £564 needed to install the warning signs from the Staffordshire Community Foundation.
The tradition of well-dressing has its roots in paganism. Mostly practiced in rural areas, it involves decorating wells and springs with flowers.
