North Wales playground deemed unsafe

A playground in North Wales has been deemed unsafe following a health and safety report, which may prompt the introduction of safety signage.

The facility on Penrhyn Hill at Penrhynside has been regarded as hazardous because it is situated directly off a busy road, while its steep grassed pathway can become extremely slippery during wet weather, reports North Wales Weekly News.

Penrhyn ward town councillor Ann Yates told the news provider: "I asked for the report from a safety officer employed by the county council because I believe this play area is unsafe and his findings bear me out."

Ms Yates also expressed worries that the playground's seclusion could mean that children are at danger of encountering paedophiles.

Earlier this week, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents stressed that firms wishing to participate in the Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2012 have a week left to register their interest. ADNFCR-2754-ID-801221448-ADNFCR
