Nottinghamshire communities handed signage ahead of jubilee

22nd May 2012 | Warning Signs

A number of Nottinghamshire communities will be given road signage to assist with any street celebrations.

Numerous groups of homeowners have expressed interest in holding events, including five in Mansfield, 11 in Ashfield and 27 in Newark, according to Chad.co.uk.

As a result, Nottinghamshire County Council vowed that it will provide traffic cones and warning signs to organisers, while officers are attempting to keep red tape at a minimal level.

Speaking to the website, Peter Goode, traffic manager at the council, said: "We have sent out information packs to those communities, requesting additional detail which we need in order to finalise and approve their application."

Mr Goode has told residents that the information packs need to be returned to the council as quickly as possible.

The Queen's jubilee will take place on the weekend of June 2nd to June 5th, with British workers being gifted the Monday and Tuesday off work, allowing them the free time necessary to plan celebrations.  ADNFCR-2754-ID-801368368-ADNFCR
