Olympic road signs introduced in Eton Dorney

Warning signs have been introduced in Eton Dorney ahead of this summer's Olympics.

Ben Smith, the Royal Borough's highways and transport manager, told the Maidenhead Advertiser that preparing the area for the event has been a "big challenge".

"We have had to change the times of refuse collections, keep a regular watch for potholes on main Olympic routes [and] put an embargo on utility companies that might be thinking of digging up crucial roads," Mr Smith continued.

He added that another task has been to ensure that unwelcome graffiti does not suddenly appear.

In order to lower the Olympics' impact on the local transport network, the borough has advised people to work from home if it is possible.

The event will have a significant effect on the daily routines of residents in and around the capital, as millions of visitors are expected to enter the country to support their respective nations.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801410822-ADNFCR
