Portal has collected an International Safety Award 2012 from the British Safety Council after showing high standards of health and safety.

The company has worked to lower the likelihood of accidents at Sherwood Park, Nottingham, with the award recognising its professionalism and devotion to ensuring the wellbeing of its staff.

John Gotley, managing director of Portal, said: "I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone at Portal who has worked so hard to achieve this goal. The award is a huge achievement and has given us all a great sense of pride in what we do."

Mr Gotley noted that the accolade illustrates that the firm has the necessary procedures in place to guarantee best practice when it comes to health and safety.

Portal is not the only organisation to be presented with a health and safety award recently, as Clugston Construction recently collected a President's Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) after it picked up 14 gold awards in a row.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801374791-ADNFCR
