Road signs frustrate Leighton Buzzard business

A garden centre manager in Leighton Buzzard was left frustrated when safety signs meant that customers could not access his store.

Leighton Buzzard Garden Centre and ten surrounding businesses were effectively forced into closure last weekend due to roadway repairs that were being completed by Central Beds Council and Amey, reports Leighton Buzzard Online.

However, it was possible to access the garden centre, which was not properly communicated to drivers in the region.

Martin Hammond, from the garden centre, told the news provider that the council assured him customers would still be able to reach the shop, but it appears that the message was not passed on to road users.

Recently, Confused.com created a new pothole safety sign for the UK's motorists.

The website has now launched a petition for the sign to be fitted throughout the country's roads, which will then be delivered to the Department of Transport. ADNFCR-2754-ID-800762941-ADNFCR
