Warning signs are set to be installed at an accident blackspot in Kinross-shire, after a recent incident of careless driving.

Richard Harvey was accused of the offence in February and, even though he was found not guilty, witnesses told Perth Sheriff Court that the road where the accident occurred is prone to ice, reports the Courier.co.uk.

After pressure from councillor Joe Giacopazzi, Perth and Kinross Council agreed to introduce warning signs to the area.

"Talks have taken place with our ?roads department and road signs should ?be going up in the next couple of weeks. The council reviews its winter maintenance policy annually and looks at whether any changes are required to the level of service provision," Mr Giacopazzi told the news provider.

Recently, the Highways Agency made safety improvements to roads in Cumbria and Lancashire.

The A66 Fitz roundabout in Cockermouth and the A595 in Hensingham now have new warning signs.
