Rochdale Borough Council is hoping to improve the safety of children on the roads through a new project.

Representatives from the authority are visiting Sure Start Children's centres across the region in order to ensure that car seats are installed properly, according to Rochdale Online.

Four members of the council's Road Safety team have collected the Child Seat Safety Awareness qualification from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.

Commenting on this, Julie Dagnall of Child Seat Safety, the provider of the course, said: "It is vitally important that anyone who gives advice on child car seats has a high level of knowledge and can confidently know the information they give is correct."

It is crucial that parents use child seats that are as safe as possible, while they should also check the condition of them to guarantee that they are not in disrepair and acting as a danger to kids.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801383500-ADNFCR
