Rock warning signs deemed 'ridiculous'

A council has been condemned after introducing warning signs on rocks at a Gwynedd beach, which urge people not to climb on them.

These signs have been placed on around six large boulders, though the Tywyn Chamber of Tourism and Commerce has labelled the signs an eyesore to the surrounding area, reports the BBC.

Mike Stevens, chairman of the group, said: "I thought it was insane. Not only do they look dreadful but I think the councils are being killjoys.

"It's as if they have seen people enjoying themselves on the rocks and want to stop it."

Mr Stevens highlighted that he contacted the council in an effort to understand why the signs were brought in, but still did not understand their purpose.

Last week, North Wales Weekly News reported that a playground in North Wales has been regarded as unsafe after a health and safety report.

The Penrhynside facility has been deemed hazardous because it is located directly off a busy road.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801222828-ADNFCR
