RoSPA appears at Leisure Industry Week

The Royal Society of Prevention and Accidents (RoSPA) is currently attending the Leisure Industry Week event.
RoSPA will host a Health and Safety Clinic in the Attractions Lounge during the three days of the event, running from today (September 24th) to Thursday (September 26th).
David Walker, RoSPA’s leisure safety manager, said: "Gyms and leisure centres generally have a good record on safety. However, there are a few rare but serious incidents each year."
Mr Walker added that managing risk in the leisure sector is about discovering the right balance between the health, wellbeing and challenge benefits and the potential injury-harm that could be caused.
He explained that Leisure Industry Week gives RoSPA a great chance to speak with leisure operators about how safety can be managed in a balanced way, taking into account the organisation's guiding ethos of life being "as safe as necessary, not as safe as possible".
