The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has presented awards to almost 200 businesses at its Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

Expor International Group collected the RoSPA Scotland trophy, whereas Scottish Water collected an honour in the Oil and Gas Industry Sector and FMC Technologies collected the Manufacturing Industry Sector accolade.

Karen McDonnell, head of RoSPA Scotland, said: "Our winners have shown that they are committed to striving for continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention and we are delighted to mark their achievements.

Ms McDonnell went on to say that the organisation is grateful for the generosity of those who donated money to enable accident prevention messages to reach young children across Scotland.

She said it was "fantastic" to see so many people support the safety initiative.

Overall, there were more than 1,800 winners in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2013, with many of these attending ceremonies in May.

The ceremony looks at both accident records and overarching health and safety management systems.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801640662-ADNFCR
