Safety specialists have gathered at a conference in Jakarta to share good practice and health and safety knowledge.
The event ran for five days from October 5th and featured talks from a number of experts, including IOSH president Gerard Hand, vice president John Lacey and Andy Lo, from IOSH’s Hong Kong Branch.
Mr Hand noted: "IOSH is keen to work alongside local occupational safety and health organisations to keep improving standards in the region. We need to work together to ensure good, realistic health and safety becomes a fundamental right of all workers in Indonesia."
He went on to say that safety leadership has a positive impact on fostering a high level of safety standards in organisations in the area.
Mr Hand explained that the threat of workplace accidents in Indonesia remains high, adding that companies must work together to reduce accidents, illness and fatalities in the region.
