Safety signage has been introduced at a school in Dundee, as officials attempt to apply strict health and safety guidelines.

Eastern Primary School will open this week and has been boosted with a number of safety measures, including the installation of dropped kerbs, safety signs and flashing lights, according to The Courier.

Education coroner Liz Fordyce told the newspaper: "We are making every effort to ensure a range of safety measures are in place for Eastern Primary moving in to its new accommodation."

Ms Fordyce also asked for parents to consider the safety of their young ones while they are making their journeys to school.

Last week, Driffield Today reported that a salon in Driffield has picked up the council's top award for health and safety.

Aquarius has been honoured with the Habia and East Riding of Yorkshire Council Platinum award. Staff from the salon collected the accolade at a presentation ceremony in Willerby Manor.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800699226-ADNFCR
