The installation of warning signs has been urged after a teenager in America fell from a cliff into the water below and died.

According to weau.com, a 16-year-old was swinging on a rope from a cliff above Lake Wissota in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. The cliff was estimated to be 20 ft high.

Eugene Gutsch, part of Chippewa County Sheriff's Department, told the news provider the teenager swung out on a rope and hit the cliff swinging back, falling off the cliff and into the water.

Zach Gutch, a user of the popular swimming spot where teenagers regularly gather, told the news provider the cliff was dangerous and needed safety signs installed.

"It's my thought that nobody should go to the cliff and we should be done swimming here.

"My personal advice is they should put a big sign saying no swimming or jumping off the cliff."

Earlier this month a worker was seriously injured after a fall from height, further highlighting the importance of health and safety signsADNFCR-2754-ID-800006021-ADNFCR
