New safety signs are set to be installed on a notably dangerous stretch of road in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

These will be put up on the Holme Road junction of the A1079, which is regarded as "suicide junction" by some drivers as a result of its hazards, reports the Hull Daily Mail.

Locals have launched a petition for improvements to be made after a number of injuries were suffered on the road. This document was signed by 1,000 people and submitted to East Yorkshire MP Greg Knight.

Mrs Neeves-Redpath, who has been told to work on the new signs, said to the newspaper: "The announcement of the new signs is certainly positive and will help raise awareness on the junction. However, there is still a major issue with the speed."

Her comments come after the Petersfield Post revealed that a control centre has been built to monitor the Hindhead Tunnel.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800673445-ADNFCR
