Safety signs to warn of speed dangers in Oxfordshire

Motorists will be warned of the dangers of speeding on an Oxfordshire road by new safety signs which are set to be erected.

The Henley Standard reported that the 30mph stretch of Marlow Road will now feature a 76mm post on the verge, with the existing junction sign being moved from a lamppost to a separate fitting.

In addition, a warning sign carrying the message "pedestrians crossing" will now face traffic coming from both directions.

David Nimmo Smith, a town and county councillor at Oxford County Council, said: "The longer term aim is to get a pelican crossing there but there is no money at the moment. There is some money for health and safety work which will alleviate the situation. The signs will certainly help — it's not the end of the story but it's a start."

Recently, the Ripon Gazette said that Masham would receive more temporary safety signs which will help people driving from the south of the town navigate their way around.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800788031-ADNFCR
