Sentinel Systems has picked up a BSIFSafety award for its Bike Hotspot System.

The business has developed a unique alarm system that informs drivers when they are too close to a cyclist. It was acknowledged as part of the Safety and Health Expo in Birmingham, reports the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard.

Andrew Holder, marketing manager at Sentinel Systems Ltd, told the news provider: “There’s been a big demand for cyclists’ safety – especially in London. So we worked to come up with a solution and this is it.

“It’s good that an innovative company, like ourselves, has been recognised for the work that we do.”

The system also works by emitting an external warning to a cyclist when they are dangerously close to a heavy goods vehicle.

News of the company’s safety award could help to boost the company’s profile in the market significantly, highlighting the hardware as a potentially useful solution for businesses to boost their safety on the roads.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801616204-ADNFCR
