Halifax construction and development specialist Southdale has been recognised with a gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

It will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropolis Hotel next month, with the RoSPA scheme standing as the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in Britain.

The initiative looks at accident records and health and safety management systems, focussing on practises such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Matthew Bostwick, health and safety manager at Southdale, which has offices in Halifax, Darlington and Warrington, told BDaily: "We are absolutely delighted to be bestowed with such recognition. The well-being of our employees and those around them has always been paramount to us, and as such we are extremely proud of this award."

Mr Bostwick explained that the awards are non-competitive, with achievements ranked at merit bronze, silver and gold levels.

The honours are presented in over 20 sectors, covering areas such as occupational road risk.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801577402-ADNFCR
