The Kenton Group has received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, which is a scheme that recognises outstanding health and safety practice in the UK, demonstrating the firm's effective use of measures such as safety signage.

Its application for the status was influenced by the need for a uniform standard across its business, with the firm involved in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of network access products for a number of clients, including Virgin Media and TalkTalk.

Barrie Corfield, health and safety manager at The Kenton Group, said: "With this accreditation we expect to enhance our ability to attract new contracts for both installation and support services. It also demonstrates our commitment to the health and safety of our employees."

When assessed under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses are put through a vetting process, where their health and safety procedures are examined.

In the coming months, CITB-ConstructionSkills will unveil its latest Health, Safety and Environment Test, replacing the current examination that was taken by more than 500,000 people last year.

April has been confirmed as the new test's month of launch.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801255839-ADNFCR
