Thieves have stolen a number of warning signs from outside Kidgate School in Grimsby.

The pupils of the school created the notices to urge parents to park safely, after the first ones were vandalised shortly before Christmas, reports the Grimsby Telegraph.

Last week, three of the latest signs, which were attached to the fence of the building, were stolen.

Speaking to the news provider, headteacher Tracey Roberts said: "It is so annoying that someone, or a group of people, have again wrecked the good work and intentions of young children by stealing the banners.

"They replaced the previous posters which were cruelly vandalised and they had only been up a few weeks."

Ms Roberts went on to say that whoever stole the signs "appears to have been well-prepared".

Warning signs are essential to notify road users of adverse conditions, and the recent winter weather makes it even more important for them to be preserved properly.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801528761-ADNFCR
