Two North East housing associations have partnered up to provide a new health and safety service.

Thanks to the agreement, home and communities organisation Livin will offer health and safety services to Cestria Community Housing in Chester-le-Street.

Andrew Traynor, head of governance and legal services for Livin, said: "We have worked hard to establish a first class health and safety service in-house and we are delighted to be working with Cestria to extend this service to their organisation.

"Across the sector, organisations are looking for ways to provide value for money whilst ensuring the services provided to tenants are of a high standard."

Cestria’s head of corporate service Christine Scott also commented on the news, saying that health and safety is very much "embedded" in the organisation's culture.

News of this agreement comes after the News Guardian reported that Bailey Green Primary School has won the SafetyMARK accreditation.ADNFCR-2754-ID-801527954-ADNFCR
