Water companies win top health and safety award

A group of water companies is set to be awarded a major prize for its commitment to best practice in health and safety, it has been confirmed.
Veolia Water Solution & Technologies, ELGA Process Water and ELGA LabWater, collectively known as VWS (UK), have been selected for the Gold Medal at the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards.
Chief executive Ian Stewart expressed his delight at receiving the award - which highlights the importance of safety signs - for the seventh consecutive year.
"Health and safety will always be a high priority for our company and we will continue to actively promote a positive health and safety culture to achieve the highest possible standards," he said.
The group will receive the award at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, which is located at the National Exhibition Centre, next Tuesday (May 11th).
RoSPA is a registered charity that was established in 1917 in response to the 'alarming increase in road accidents' during first world war blackouts.
