Wiltshire concert cancelled amid health and safety fears

A classical concert and firework display in the Old Town area of Flintshire was recently cancelled due to worries over health and safety.

Seemingly, even the installation of safety signage would not have been able to rescue the show, as heavy rain meant that the event's Bowl Stage was viewed as unsafe to use, according to This Is Wiltshire.co.uk.

Speaking to the website, Nicki Western, culture marketing manager at Swindon Council, said: "They told us it didn't pass health and safety regulations, therefore it was not safe to support 70 young people."

Ms Western apologised to potential attendees of the event and claimed that it is not something she will be able to reschedule.

Elsewhere, the Hawkswood Nature Reserve recently reopened with new safety signs after it had been shut for eight months.

It was closed after the local council determined that fences, signs and a life belt were required at the site. ADNFCR-2754-ID-800717323-ADNFCR
